Below are three photos to give you an idea of how much product you will receive in each size package. We filled up each size bag with marbles and placed them next to a quarter to provide a clear representation. There are two different photos, one for standard spices/seasonings and one for herbs. Since many herbs are so leafy the same weight will fill up a much larger bag. This is why some of the herb prices seem a lot higher than the spice prices, but you are actually receiving more product.

The third image is of our 1 cup Bottle with Sifter next to a popular national brand found in most grocery stores. You can see that our bottle holds close to 2.5 times more product than the national brand bottle. Plus, ours often costs less! Please be aware some other online retailers only offer 1/2 cup(4 fluid ounces) bottles. We choose to offer double the size 1 cup (8 fluid ounces) bottles to give you the biggest bang for your buck!

We hope you can see from these images that regardless of which size you order, you are getting a lot of product and a very good value compared to the supermarket.

Love it on hummus

I first had this spice at a mid eastern restaurant. Have used it ever since. Can’t find it in local stores.

Excellent choice!

The ground sumac is excellent! Can’t really describe the flavor it imparts though. Other reviews say it’s a lemony flavor but I can’t really taste lemon. Makes every protein I put it on taste great.

Just Okay

I used to make my own Zaatar, but initial samples were generally tasteless so had to add ground wild thyme to approximate proper flavor

Love this, Excellent quality, I used a funnel and funneled into a glass 🫙 jar. The taste is wonderful in tea ☕. Just have to use a little sprinkle.

A new taste for my palate.

The Ground Sumac that I originally acquired was a bonus “freebie” when I put in another order. This is a mid-eastern spice that has been used for eons in the Middle East, but I didn’t grow up there and wasn’t familiar with it. That “sampler” was enough to give me an idea of its potential uses on all kinds of foods. The species is Rhus coriacea, and, like some of its relatives, the fruits provide something of a savoury tart, citrusy taste. I was hooked! A little bit goes a looong way. Subtlety is valued here. …Whether on a cooked meal on a plate, or a simple salad, somehow the ground sumac just seems to give an extra special dimension to the overall flavor.
As with all reviews, don’t trust one person’s tastes (—in foods, or movies, or literature, etc.). I don’t know what your tastes might be, but I’m glad that I found the Ground Sumac as a “freebie”.
Use those “freebies” to explore the world of tastes! You never know just what you might be missing, gustatorially, amid the broad range of ingredients and spices.
