Also Known As: Ajowan Seeds, Carom Seeds and Ethiopian Cumin.
Origin: Indian and Mediterranean
Ingredients: Ajwain Seeds
Taste and Aroma: Very similar to Thyme's minty flavor, but stronger. Intense, yet pleasant.
Uses: Baking, bread, vegetables, beans and pastries.
Substitutes: Thyme or Nigella Sativa
Fun Fact: Ajwain Seeds contain Thymol, the essential oil in thyme, which is why the two spices taste so similar.

-May be used to relieve symptoms of sore throats and coughs
-May be used to reduce bad breath
