Taste and Aroma: Salty!
Uses: Making, flavoring, aging and brining homemade cheese. Can also be used for baking, spreads, dressings, meats, seasonings, curing, spice blends, canning and pickling.
Substitutes: Canning and Pickling Salt, Prague Powder Number 1, Blue Cheese Powder, Grated Parmesan Cheese, White Cheddar Cheese Powder and Yellow Cheddar Cheese Powder.
Fun Fact: Cheese salt does not contain iodine, because that would inhibit the necessary bacteria growth in making cheese.
