Taste and Aroma: Hot! Habaneros are between 100,000 and 350,000 Scoville Heat Units and are one of the hottest peppers used for culinary purposes. Once you get past the heat, Habaneros have a fruity and citrusy flavor.
Uses: Chile, salsa, stews, sauces, stir fry and meat.
Substitutes: Habanero Powder, Habanero Sea Salt, Bhut Jolokia Peppers - World's Hottest Chile, Arbol Chile Peppers, Chipotle Morita Chile Peppers, Chipotle Brown Chile Peppers or Guajillo Chile Peppers
Fun Fact: Habanero Chile Peppers are anywhere from five to ten times hotter than Chipotle Peppers.
